We rescued our dog, Ezra, from a local animal shelter five years ago, a month before our first baby was born. It might’ve seemed a little crazy to adopt a dog and become new parents at the same time, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. I grew up with dogs in my family and I knew I always wanted my children to have a dog of their own. Ezra quickly became a member of our family, and she felt right at home with us. When I was nearing the end of my pregnancy, Ezra would sit with me and lay her head on my bump. I like to imagine she was listening to the baby’s heartbeat.
I am thankful that we took Ezra home that day in August. I could not imagine our house without her. Watching my kids grow up with a dog is a dream come true, and I hope they will always remember the bond they have created with Ezra. I try to document their life together as often as I can through photos and videos. I want Piper and Rowan to always remember the bond they shared with Ezra.
Every night after the kids go to bed, we cuddle up on the couch with Ezra and watch tv. We are so excited to start watching the new Amazon Prime dog competition series, The Pack, celebrating the unique bond between dogs and their humans on November 20th. Hosted by Olympic Gold Medalist Lindsay Vonn and her dog co-host Lucy, we get to watch as twelve teams of dogs and their humans set off on a cross-continental adventure for an opportunity to win $750,000 ($500,000 to the team and $250,000 to be donated to the animal charity of their choice). On this journey, the human and dog duos will have fun challenges designed by veterinarians and dog experts to make sure it’s a positive experience for everyone. The dogs and their humans will have to depend on their relationship and prove they have the strongest bond in the pack to win. The The Pack Amazon Prime original series, will premiere on November 20th in over 240 countries.
Make sure to grab your popcorn and tune in to The Pack on Amazon Prime with your pup friend. Don’t forget to check out the Packed Weekend 3-day event for fun deals and experiences.
