It is no secret that I love to chat about skincare. When I turned 30, I decided to commit to a nightly skincare routine. In my twenties, my skincare was inconsistent and I would frequently “forget” to remove my makeup every night. Fast forward to me at 32, when I have time, my nightly skincare routine can be up to 9 steps depending on the day. But believe me, there are nights when I can’t stand the thought of spending 30 minutes in the bathroom doing skincare. Enter in my five minute nighttime skincare routine when I can’t keep my eyes open!
5 Minutes to a Clean Hydrated Skin and Your Bed
I would like you to know that this is a sponsored post from Delight Beauty, but please know that the following thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
STEP 1 – Take off that makeup (Minute One)
If you only do one thing before bed, take off your makeup. Personally I hate makeup removing wipes, but if that’s the only way you’ll remove your makeup, you do you. Currently, I use a reusable makeup removing cloth that just uses water.
STEP 2 – Wash Your Face aka The Cleansing Step (Minute Two)
Always wash your face at night regardless of if you wore makeup or not. If you removed your makeup with a makeup wipe, oil, or balm, wash your face. You’ll be surprised at how much dirt and grime is still on your face.
Lately, I have been using Delight Beauty Sparkling Clean Zinc Face Wash with my facial spin brush after removing my makeup. It is a gel based cleanser infused with natural zinc. Did you know zinc helps draw out impurities and rejuvenate skin? But the best part of this cleanser for me is that it is clinically proven to be non-irritating and is made without parabens, phthalates, sulfates, or petrolatum.
STEP 3 – Toner, Don’t forget Toner (Minute Three)
The toner step is relatively new for me. After committing to washing my face every night, I took a deep dive into learning all I could about skincare. Toner preps your face for serums, moisturizer, and oils. If you’re not using toner, add this quick step to your nighttime routine.
I love the Fresh Sweep Calming Gel Toner by Delight Beauty. It comes with an attached brush that is used to brush toner all over your face. The toner disappears quickly and leaves no extra residue on the skin. After toning with the Fresh Sweep Calming Gel Toner my skin always feels refreshed, calmed, and balanced.
STEP 4 – Moisturize that Face (Minute Four)
After toning, I never forget to moisturize. This is the key to keeping your skin hydrated and soft. Don’t forget to apply the moisturizer to your neck and under your chin! The Smooth-Hydration Nourishing Moisturizer from Delight Beauty is perfect for a quick skincare routine because it is formulated with vitamins C and E and antioxidants to help with hydration and skin renewal. This silky formula is easy to apply with your fingers and doesn’t feel greasy on the skin.
Do you have an extra 5-10 minutes? Apply a mask.
If you have an extra five to ten minutes a few times a week to add to your skincare routine, do a mask. I’m a new fan of Delight Beauty’s Roll with It Gel Detox Mask. I know masks can be a little messy to apply, but this mask by Delight Beauty comes with an attached roller making it easy and quick to apply. The gel formula also makes it easy to multitask while the mask is on. Personally, I brush my teeth and scroll through Instagram while waiting for the mask to set. I love that the mask has glycolic acid in it because I am able to use it as a gentle exfoliator which helps give the skin a revitalized and fresh feeling.
Now you’re ready for bed or for watching Netflix while the kids are sleeping!
