Los Olivos is in the Santa Ynez Valley, Santa Barbara County, California. The Santa Ynez Valley is about an hour and a half drive from Los Angeles and about three hours from San Francisco. The Valley is home to many vineyards, wineries, tasting rooms, Solvang, and much more.
The Best Hotels in Los Olivos, California
Los Olivos, California, is a small town, and as of this post in October 2022, there are two hotels. One hotel is currently open, and another hotel they say will open in late 2022. If you are looking to stay in the city limits of Los Olivos, California, look into these hotels:
Fess Parker Wine Country Inn:
This hotel is located on Alamo Pintado Road and is right in the city limits of Los Olivos. The Fess Parker Wine Country Inn is a 4-star hotel with 22 rooms. The amenities at this location include an upscale Italian restaurant, complimentary wine tastings, and parking. There is also a heated pool and a gym for guests to use. If you want to splurge during your trip to Los Olivos, Fess Parker is the place to stay.
The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern:
This hotel is located on Alamo Pintado Road in Los Olivos. The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern is a historic renovated hotel. The hotel has 22 rooms, a restaurant, and a bar. If you want a more historic place to stay during your trip, keep an eye out for the Inn at Mattei’s Tavern, newly opened in 2022.

Ballard Inn, Ballard, CA (2.3 miles away from Los Olivos)
The Ballard Inn is a four-star hotel in Ballard, CA, with 15 individually decorated rooms. A full breakfast, hors d’oeuvres, and a tasting of local wines are included in your stay. Don’t forget to dine at the award-winning Ballad Inn Restaurant, which features a French-Asian fusion cuisine. The onsite restaurant is open Wednesday – Sunday.

The Sideways Inn is a 3-star rated hotel located in the town of Buellton. We stayed at The Sideways Inn in 2019 and loved this simple hotel. It has an outdoor pool and firepits. Fun fact: the movie Sideways was filmed here.
