I posted to my IGTV a horrible try on of three Old Navy high rise shorts. I had ordered one size up from my normal and I still needed to go up a size. Once I was able to try on the correct size for me, these shorts were perfect! Do I dare say, best high rise shorts for moms?? I won’t, but this is just a good reminder that sizing is weird and it doesn’t define you.
Now on to the try on…
HIGH RISE SHORT TRY ON AT OLD NAVY

5’6
155 Pounds
Normally a M or 4/6 in all clothes
Pair of Shorts #1
Top \\ Shorts (are sold out, but I will keep an eye out on restock – they had them in store on 5/24)
I am obsessed with the button fly, there’s a tiny bit of stretch, and they are not too tight around the leg. They appear to have an 11 inch rise according to my measurements but the shorts didn’t seem to high. The pockets are the secret-slim pockets which just means the pocket is sewn into the denim. Overall, I took home these shorts in a size 8 and at Old Navy I’m usually a 4.
The top was just some thing fun I grabbed and it also came home with me.
Pair of Shorts #2
If button fly isn’t your thing, I would say try these high waist zipper fly shorts with light distressing. I sized up from a 4 to an 8.
Pair of Shorts #3
Top: Madewell / Shorts (these are in stock)
I wish they made these exact button front raw hem shorts in a blue jean because I can see them becoming a favorite. I think they may also come in white, but white bottoms and I don’t get along. It’s hard to see the details on these but they are worth checking out. I sized up from a 4 to an 8.
