Believe it or not, this is the first leather jacket I have owned in a long time…maybe ever. I’m not sure why it has taken me so long to grab one. But here I am 32 and a leather jacket owner.
A leather jacket has been on my list for years though. I was mostly looking for one second hand because I wanted a vintage lived in kind of vibe. Long story short, I am still looking for my vintage jacket that’s not the cost of my mortgage.
But I really wanted to have a leather jacket for my upcoming trip to Nashville. So I started to stalk every outfit photo on Instagram and Pinterest that had featured an “affordable” leather jacket. (I put affordable in quotes because I think a good leather jacket faux or real isn’t going to be easily found for under $40 or $50). Do you know which jacket I kept seeing over and over again? Faux leather jackets by BLANKNYC.
From my research, BLANKNYC Faux Leather Jackets typically go on sale during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and sometimes can be found on Nordstrom Rack, but I noticed they sell out rather quickly.
Then last week while I was running errands, I popped into TJMAXX and there she was: The BLANKNYC Faux Leather Jacket I was looking at the night before on Nordstrom. I quickly grabbed the medium and the large. According to reviews, the jacket tends to run small. I decided to go with the large for more room in the shoulders and layering possibilities.
On a regular day, I would wear it just like this: jeans, converse, and a sweater. As the weather changes to Spring, I would replace the sweater with a short sleeve tee or even a tank.
I have linked the jacket below with other outfit details, but check your local TJMaxx or Nordstrom Rack, you may be able to find a deal on one like I did!
