A year ago, I asked for help.
A year ago, I saw a doctor about my mental health concerns.
A year ago, my doctor prescribed a daily anti-depressant for me to take.
Looking back, it took me too long to ask for help with my mental health. I always struggled in some ways, but then the pandemic hit, and everything changed.
Do I still have days I struggle with stress, anxiety, and depression? Yes. But asking for help has given me the emotional toolkit I need to manage my mental health.
My advice to you: ask for help, take medications if you need to, get enough sleep, don’t doom scroll social media, journal, and spend some time in the sun.
