I’m not a huge skirt person. On a typical day, you can find me rocking a pair of jeans. But there are those times, when I feel like putting on something different. Enter in the midi length skirt or even a midi length dress. At a midi length, it is still long enough to run after kids without flashing anyone, but short enough that you won’t trip on the fabric. I teamed up with to showcase this closet staple with Carey from The Dainty Details. Carey is a petite blogger who shares everyday fashion. If you’re petite be sure to see how she styled her midi skirt!
Closet Staple: Midi Skirt
Believe it or not, I found this skirt while browsing a thrift store a few weeks ago. I think it is either from Amazon, because there is no store label and the size label is super small and simple. If you have ever ordered a piece of clothing off of Amazon, you know these small little tags. The other reason why I think it’s originally from Amazon is there’s one that looks exactly like this skirt I am wearing.
Like always I wanted to make my midi skirt outfit mom friendly, so I knotted a graphic tee and slipped on my white converse. These two items dress down a skirt, so if you are thinking a midi skirt is too much for my daily life. Try adding these two things. Did I mention that this skirt has pockets?
Anyways, I know it’s October and in some parts of North America it is Fall. But here in California it was a high of 85 degrees today, so we are still rocking short sleeves and bare legs. I did put a felt hat on, does that make my outfit more fall?
If you do live somewhere that experiences the fall season, this would be the perfect outfit to throw on a jean or leather jacket and some knee high socks to cover those legs. If you do chose to wear a jacket, I would suggest a more cropped and fitted version.
Pregnant or just about to have a baby? Midi skirts are perfect. Most skirts have enough room for a growing bump and are comfortable to wear postpartum. Plus, they could be easier to nurse in than a dress, if you are a breastfeeding mama.
How would you style a midi length skirt? Would you wear it more casually like me or would you dress it up?
