Brady and I were born and raised in Southern California. Our parents’ houses are about 15 -20 minutes away from Disneyland. We decided it would be fun to stay at a hotel within walking distance of the park for Rowan’s first trip and stayed the night at Grand Legacy at the Park. In the words of Rowan, “Bests hotel ever!”
We Love Grand Legacy at the Park!
Grand Legacy at the Park is across the street from the entry gates to Disneyland.
When we walked over to Disneyland, we timed the walk time. It took us four minutes and twenty seconds, including being stopped at a crosswalk. I love that the hotel was so close for a couple reasons.
- You already walk a ton at Disneyland. Save energy and enjoy a short walk to and from the hotel.
- The hotel is easily accessible if anyone in the family needs a break. Take a nap or eat some food. Did I mention that there are refrigerators and microwaves in the rooms? I’m a huge fan when hotels have those appliances. Or even return to the hotel to dip in the pool (more on that later).
- Since this was like a stay-cation to us (we normally stay with my parents when we visit Orange County), I loved that on our Disneyland day, we weren’t in traffic on the 5, trying to find parking in the structure, and having to take the tram or walk from the parking structure to the park. Brady and I used to have passes before we moved away, and that was always our experience. So, take it from me. Stay at Grand Legacy at the Park; your feet will thank you.
Brady filmed our walk that morning to Disneyland. Rowan was still confused about what we would be doing that day, but I think he understood the magic after an hour or so at Disneyland. Watch the video on YouTube.
We also saw California Adventure from our third-story room in the tower at Grand Legacy at the Park. Pretty cool, if you ask me.
The Amenities
Just to list off a few of my favorites:
- Free WiFi
- Comfy Beds
- Refrigerator and Microwave – I always want a cold drink available!
- Full-Length Mirror
- Crib for the Baby (by request)
Grand Legacy at the Park also provides each guest with a snack bag at the beginning of each day. Grab a snack bag before leaving for the park. A bottle of water, crackers, an apple, and a granola bar are in the bag. It was perfect because I forgot to get snacks for our Disney Day.
There is also a pool area with a splash zone perfect for kids. Since we were in Anaheim during November, we didn’t hang out in the water. However, I think this would be a nice place to relax from the hustle and crowds of Disneyland if you come on a warmer day.
Most Importantly, Rowan loved it.
Okay, okay. Rowan would have probably loved any hotel, but at Grand Legacy at the Park, he could stand at the window and watch the cars and people below. I think he stood at the window the entire time we were in the room when he wasn’t sleeping.
Other Perks
Grand Legacy at the Park has a rooftop restaurant and bar that overlooks Disney and is pretty neat to see fireworks from. We didn’t go while we were staying at the hotel, but Brady and I did eat there with my parents last year, and I can’t wait to go again because the views are incredible! Note: The Fifth is 21+ after 10 PM and is closed on Mondays.
I added our Instagram Stories from those two days to Youtube if you want to check out more about our trip.
