While the weather in California may not be reflecting “Fall” temperatures, the first day of October is here. In Fresno it means (hopefully) the end of triple degree heat and going outside. I have created a little Fall Bucket List for Toddlers.
Fall Bucket List for Toddlers
Go to A Pumpkin Patch (or a few pumpkin patches)
Last year, we went to one pumpkin patch and then we went to another patch, and a third pumpkin patch. I didn’t plan to go to three, I just ended up becoming obsessed!
My favorite pumpkin patch in the Fresno area is Hillcrest Farms about 20 – 30 minutes outside of Fresno. The farm has a train, hay ride, a play area, and a picnic area. We spent hours here last year.
The other two we visited wasn’t as memorable. I’m on the hunt for a few others to explore this year though.
Go Fruit Picking
I’ve never been and I think picking fruit with Rowan would be fun. I am not sure where to go yet, but we will go!
Visit the Fair
The Fresno County Fair will be in town during October. We have lived in Fresno for two years and I haven’t been to the big fair yet. Last year, we went to the Caruthers Fair, but we missed it this year.
Paint Pumpkins
Craving pumpkins with a toddler seems like the worse idea ever. So, I think we’ll paint them instead.
Make S’mores in the Backyard
Brady built a fire pit, so really we should be making S’mores every night.
Take Photos in a Pile of Leaves
This one may be hard for us here in California, but I will find a pile, I will. We found them once, when Rowan was a baby.
What do you have planned for fall? Anything else we should add to our list?

What a fun list!! Love those sweet little tractor pictures! That’s definitely a great looking pumpkin patch.

Love this! We have done four of these already with our girl, but I am looking forward to the others!

When my kids were little we always did the hayride out to the pumpkin patch. It is such a fun thing to do with the little ones.

Awww, aren’t toddlers the best? I miss this stage. These are all great ideas for fun activities to do with your toddlers in the fall!
I remember doing so many of these things with our kids when they were little and they still enjoy doing some of them now that they’re older.

I love these ideas! We will definitely be using many of them!

Pumpkin painting and fruit picking sound like great activities!

What a great list of fun fall activities! In fact, I think they are perfect for kids and adults of all ages – thank you so much for sharing 🙂 I’m hoping to go up next weekend, so fun!
Oops apple picking, not up! Silly autocorrect.
These are such fun ideas! We have already gone to the apple orchard/pumpkin patch a few times, but it’s so much fun!
Awe, these are all great ideas for fall with toddlers, or younger kids. My youngest is 12 now, but we still visit pumpkin patches.
So many fun ways to make memories!
I love that you wound up at three pumpkin patches last year! That’s definitely on my list. I would love to have pictures in Fall leaves, but there are hardly any around here on the central coast!
Where are you on the central coast? Have you checked out Avila Valley Barn?
It’s my first year with a toddler and I haven’t thought of half of this! It’s time for me to get moving so he doesn’t miss out!
I am really looking forward to all of the Fall festivities this year. My son just turned 1, and my daughter is 4.5 so it will be a fun year to go to the pumpkin patch and all of the festivals.
Love this list! We did apple picking and went to the pumpkin patch! We are going to the pumpkin patch again next week to get some actual pumpkins and do the activities again. Then check out two more pumpkin patches this fall! Making smores and roasting hotdogs too will be this week!!
These are great ideas for younger children. I live in So Cal and I go apple picking every year. And I always see tons of families with children. It’s such a great family-friendly activity.
We moved from So Cal a couple years ago and I always want to go to Riley’s farm when I see photos. When we are visiting our families, I think we’ll have to add it to our list.
These are such great ideas! We go apple picking and visit the pumpkin farm every year!
Fun list. I took the kids apple picking last week and they loved it. We are planning to do a corn maze and pumpkin patch and I want to do some fun fall crafts and paint pumpkins. Oh, and don’t forget lots of pumpkin treats.
Having a Fall bucket list makes this season more fun! I hope you cross everything on your bucket list this Fall! I’m sure your baby’s going to have so much fun as well.
What a great activity to do with the kids. I actually think all kids would enjoy this. I still enjoy going to pumpkin patches. They are a totally fall plan for the weekend.
I love summertime with kids, but it’s so HOT. Fall is underrated for all the incredible things you can do to keep kids busy outdoors — I think it’s my favorite time of year 🙂
Super cute list. All those will be so fun and enjoyable. Nothing stressful or out of age range. You go, momma!
These ideas are gorgeous and would definitely keep any toddler entertained! Love the idea of hitting up a pumpkin farm!
I’ve never been fruit picking, either, but I think my toddler would love it! Great list — thanks for sharing!
What a great list! I can’t wait to get started!
Fun ideas. I am going to a beautiful park with my 3 year old and some friends this week. I am trying to plan an activity, so thanks for the ideas.
My son is a toddler so these were perfect tips for now. I pinned this to remember later when we are trying to decide what to do!
My youngest ( for now) will be 2 on the 16th, and so this is the first year he will really be able to enjoy fall and Halloween. My girls are really excited and can’t wait to get pumpkins to paint.
Such fun fall ideas. This is exactly what I was looking for my toddlers. I have got a 3 and a 2 year old, so it gets pretty crazy haha. Can’t wait to do some of these! 🙂
so many fun things to do in the fall!! enjoy!
Such good ideas! I’m going to do all of them! I have a two and a four year old. Perfect age for those photo ideas!
I am with you on visiting Pumpkin patches. I love them. But I never thought about taking a picture in a pile of leaves. That is a neat idea and I think I am going to steal it.
We absolutely love the pumpkin patch, it is one of our favorite things to do in the Fall. This is a great list!
Fall is such a fun time to explore the outdoors! I love that the bucket list is short and totally achievable. Our favorite is definitely s’mores in the backyard!
I love this! We are waiting to do all our “fall” activities until we have family in down so that we can enjoy them all together but I love this bucket list! Definitely helps me plan what to do!
There is just so much to do in the fall with the little ones! I miss the days of visiting farms and playing outside the kids while they were little!
We are big on fairs and apple picking in the fall. They are activities that my kids always love, even though my older two are no longer toddlers. But, they love to share the joy and newness of these activities with my littlest who is almost 3 and doesn’t quite remember last fall. Super fun!
My kids go to the pumpkin patch from school. I will take them for fruit piking and to the fair for sure.
These are such fun ideas! We enjoy taking photos in the leaves too.
Our fair is this week and I am so excited to go this weekend. In my hometown, fair was always in the spring. I love all the activities, tastes, and smells that the Fall brings!

I am adding smores to my list now for my kiddos.
Would you believe it, I love pumpkins but I have never been to a pumpkin patch before! I would like to go though, it would be a lot of fun x
Yay… I did a similar bucket list for fall this year for my two little ones. I promised myself and them, that will absolutely do some apple picking and I will make pies. Great list.
Thrifting Diva
Those are some great ideas, will keep this in mind for future uses. I’d love to paint pumpkins and make smores with my little one when he gets a little bit older.
My kids loved going to the pumpkin patch and corn maze at this age. It was so fun to watch them pick those pumpkins.
This is a great bucket list. There are so many fun things to do with the kids in fall. I always loved watching the leaves change as well while out on a walk.
These are all great ideas! My two year old daughter would love to do all of these activities. Fall is my very favorite time of year to be outside in Arizona!
the pumpkin patch is such a classic! Love these pics too
