Last year for Piper’s 6-month photos, we headed to a Christmas tree lot with my good photographer friend, Brittany. When my friend decided to do mini photo sessions at the same location as last year, I signed up quickly. It looks like photos at a Christmas tree lot are now a tradition for our little family.
Taking Christmas Tree Photos
After Piper’s hot mess during our family photos, I worried about how the images would go. It was also a mini session (15-20 minutes long) instead of the entire hour-long session we usually do when we do professional photos.
I also didn’t coordinate outfits or spend time doing the kids’ hair. The week of the photos was a FULL week for us. First of all, it was my birthday week. I celebrated my birthday with Brady and the kids one night and my friends the next; I had campaigns due and was preparing for a cookie decorating party for Rowan and Piper’s friends at the end of the week. There was a lot on my plate, and I had low expectations for the Christmas photos. So that morning of the pictures, I just picked outfits from our clean clothes and left them at that.
I fed the kids and ensured they were hydrated before leaving for our Christmas tree photos. Brittany also had lollipops and marshmallows for the kids when we got there. The lollipop was enough to make Piper happy, and the photo shoot was beautiful.
I can’t wait to print these photos and display them with Christmas decor. Maybe next year, Brady can join us for Christmas tree lot photos.
