How to Remove the Background from an Image in Canva
Using Canva, you can now remove backgrounds from photos by clicking a few buttons. If you want to make marketing graphics for your website, removing the background of an image is a good idea. Canva does an excellent job at removing backgrounds.
Remember that more detailed backgrounds can produce different results than you first thought. You can use the Restore and Erase options to change this.
If you are using an internet browser to use Canva, follow these directions:
1. Open your image in Canva.
2. Click on the “Edit Image” button
Select the “Remove background” button.
3. And watch the background of your selected image disappear.
If you are using the Canva app, follow these directions:
- Open your image in Canva
- Select your image and at the bottom of the screen, select the “Effects” button.
- Click the BG Remover and watch the magic happen.
If you need to use the restore and erase features for your image, you can select parts of the image individually. The Restore button will bring back any part of the image removed by accident. The Erase button will allow you to manually remove any parts of the background that were not removed automatically.
