When the seasons change, my skin always go through an adjustment period. In the late fall and winter, my skin is unbearably dry. However, because the last few years consisted of me having babies I haven’t really taken care of my dry skin. This year though, I am committed to having hydrated skin by just adding a few things to my daily life.
Let’s work together and say goodbye to dry skin
I would like you to know that this is a sponsored post from Ceramedx, but please know that the following thoughts and opinions are 100% my own. This post also may contain affiliate links, thank you for your continued support.
Girl, Drink that H2O
I have to actively remind myself to drink water. When I forget or I don’t drink enough water throughout the day, I can see an feel a difference in my skin. I usually drink my water through a huge 40oz Hydro Flask with a straw lid that goes with me everywhere. I know hydro flasks are expensive but I also have a collection of Healthy Human water bottles and cups that I recommend to help with your water intake and keeping the water cold.
Adjust How You Shower
When I suffer from dry skin, my first step is to make sure I take colder showers. As someone who loves burning hot showers, this one is harder to commit to then drinking water. From my experience, a hot shower just contributes to red itchy skin.
As for in shower products, lately I have been using Ceramedx Extra Gentle Cleanser. This cleanser is amazing and according to the bottle, the product cleanses while still preserving the skin’s protective barrier. If you have sensitive skin, I would highly suggest trying it out. It is a creamy fragrance free cleanser that didn’t leave my skin red and irritated after use.
Ceramedx products are a skin therapy system containing plant-based ceramides and emollients. The products are meant to help heal dryness rather then moisturize for a short period of time through the use of Riceramide®-3 Complex within their skincare formulas. But what is Riceramide®-3 Complex? It is a blend of cermides made from rice bran, cholesterol, and free fatty acids that work together to bring hydration, support the skin barrier, and renew the skin. Plus all the products are cruelty, gluten, GMO, and fragrance free.
Spend 3-5 Minutes Dry Brushing
Skincare experts preach the importance of exfoliation for your face, but don’t forget to exfoliate your body! There’s a ton of dead skin that is just begging to be brushed away. An easy way to exfoliate is with dry brushing. While some may use a little bit of body oil on the dry brush, I would suggest trying out the Ceramedx Extra Gentle Cleanser since it is light and creamy and easily absorbs into the skin.
Don’t Forget To Lotion Up
I try to apply lotion in the morning and before bed. Moisturized skin is the key to putting an end to dry skin.
In the last couple weeks, I have been grabbing my bottle of Restoring Body Lotion. Like the Ceramedx Extra Gentle Cleanser; the Restoring Body Lotion, and the Ultra Moisturizing Cream use the same Riceramide®-3 Complex to heal the skin’s moisture properties. The lotion comes in a pump bottle for quick and easy application.
For those extra dry spots on the skin, I like to use Ceramedx Ultra Moisturizing Cream to moisturize those extra dry spots on my feet, hands, and other spots that may need some extra TLC. The Ultra Moisturizing Cream is thick, but doesn’t leave a greasy film on the skin after use.
